My work is classical in the sense that it involves a definite directing of o n e ’s concentration. In vessel the frame is very important, as the image is continually flowing through it. The frame is eyelids. It can seem sad that in order to exist a form must have bounds, limits, set and setting. The rectangle’s content can be precisely that. In Vessel the frame emphasizes the cosmic continuity which is beautiful, but tragic: it just goes on without us.
